I'm Salimah Panjwani, a family nurse practitioner, and I'm the primary caregiver for my seventy-five-year-old mother, who lives in our home. I know what the six o'clock mornings feel like, and I know the particular worry of leaving the house wondering whether everything will be alright until you're back.
I've spent thirteen years in healthcare — first as a staff nurse and nurse informaticist at Methodist Healthcare in San Antonio, later as a clinical supervisor at Texas Children's Pediatrics in Houston, and now as a family nurse practitioner. That work taught me two things: how good care is actually delivered, and how completely it falls apart when the people giving it aren't supported, paid properly, or kept consistent.
I started Aescent because I couldn't find, for other families, the kind of care I'd want for my own mother — a small team who show up, know the person, and stay. So we built it deliberately small. Every family, I meet myself.
