Aescent Private Care provides strictly non-medical Personal Assistance Services, offering everyday support in the home. While our founder's extensive background as a Nurse Practitioner elevates our agency's standards and care planning, our services do not include medical treatment and do not replace the care of a primary physician. We proudly support and coordinate with your loved one's healthcare team, never around them.
Ways to pay for care
Most families start out assuming private-duty care is entirely out of pocket. Often it isn't. Before you rule anything out on cost, it's worth a short conversation about what your parent may already be entitled to — we'll help you sort out which of these fits.
The most common and most flexible option. You're billed weekly for the hours actually delivered — no long-term contract, no lock-in, and you can raise or lower the level of care as needs change. We'll give you an exact weekly figure on our first call.
If your parent bought a long-term care policy years ago, it may reimburse much of the cost of non-medical home care — many families forget they have it. We provide the detailed, dated visit records these insurers require, so claims are straightforward. We'll help you read your policy's home-care benefit before you commit.
Eligible veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for the VA Aid & Attendance pension — a benefit paid directly to you that can be used to help cover the cost of care from any provider you choose, including Aescent Private Care. Aescent Private Care is currently a private-pay provider (meaning we do not process state Medicaid caregiver programs). There are still real avenues for veterans and their families: certain long-term care insurance policies and veterans' benefits — such as the VA Aid & Attendance pension — can help offset the cost of care, since these benefits are paid directly to the veteran or surviving spouse and can be used with any provider they choose, including Aescent. Home health care involves skilled medical services ordered by a doctor—such as nursing, physical therapy, or wound care—and is usually short-term. Home care (what Aescent provides) offers non-medical support for daily living: companionship, bathing, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and medication reminders. Our agency stands out because it is founded and led by a Nurse Practitioner, meaning our non-medical care plans are built with exceptional professional insight and our caregivers are trained to a higher standard.

Every Aescent caregiver is rigorously background-checked and employed directly by Aescent as a W-2 employee—never an independent contractor—and covered under our general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We pay competitive rates to retain reliable, trusted professionals. Furthermore, our caregivers are guided by our Nurse Practitioner owner, ensuring they meet an elevated standard of professionalism and communication. We only send individuals we would implicitly trust in our own parents' homes.
