In short: Aescent caregivers are W-2 employees — never contractors — screened through DPS checks, the misconduct registry, and OIG/SAM exclusions, then matched to your family for personality and routine, not just availability.

Most agencies send whoever is free that shift. We don't. When we place a caregiver with your family, we're thinking about personality, daily routine, location, experience, and — just as much — what your loved one is actually comfortable with. A quiet person who likes their mornings unhurried shouldn't be matched with someone who fills every silence. The right skills matter, but so does the right fit, and we weigh both before anyone walks through your door.

Nobody asks this out loud on a first call, so we answer it before you have to. Every caregiver completes all of the following — not after, not eventually:

• Texas DPS criminal history check — completed and cleared before any contact with a client.
• Employee Misconduct Registry — checked at hire and again every year.
• Nurse Aide Registry — verified for findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation.
• OIG and SAM exclusion lists — screened against federal exclusion databases.
• Driving record and auto insurance — verified for anyone who will transport a client, re-checked annually.
• Tuberculosis screening and CPR — current certification required and kept current.
• Skills competency sign-off — a hands-on assessment by a supervisor, not a video course.
• W-2 employment — employees, never contractors, so they're covered by our insurance and bond.

The reason families end up with a rotating cast of strangers is simple: agencies underpay and overwork caregivers, so they leave.
